PLNR-02-7-Elk Population Management Efforts In Colorado

WHEREAS a good elk harvest is necessary to maintain balance in fragile ecosystems; and

WHEREAS the number of non-resident hunters has drastically decreased in recent years; and

WHEREAS Colorado Parks and Wildlife continues to look for ways to improve the health and viability of elk populations in Colorado;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that CLUB 20 supports Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s efforts to effectively manage elk populations in Colorado that will encourage increased hunting opportunities while maintaining healthy ecosystems in balance with the other uses of the land.
