PLNR-96-3-Compensation For Game Damage 2

WHEREAS Western Colorado land owners lose substantial amounts of habitat each year to wildlife, and the State program for reimbursing that loss is inadequate; and

WHEREAS The process for such reimbursements has been cumbersome and poorly administered, and the result is that most losses are never reimbursed; and

WHEREAS All citizens benefit from protection of wildlife habitat, but land owners suffer a disproportionate share of the burden,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of CLUB 20 at its 44th Annual Meeting that Colorado law should be revised to provide fair, adequate, and immediate compensation to private property owners whose property is damaged by wildlife.
