WHEREAS CLUB 20 recognizes the importance of a statewide highway system for the movement of goods and people; and
WHEREAS U.S. Highway 50 is an important east-west transportation corridor in western Colorado that has a major impact on the economy, environment, and quality of life; and
WHEREAS local communities in eastern Colorado, together with the Colorado Department of Transportation, have developed a comprehensive vision for U.S. Highway 50 from the Kansas border to Pueblo, CO; and
WHEREAS ACTION 22 has supported this comprehensive vision on the Front Range, as well as increasing the capacity of U.S. Highway 50 to four lanes in this corridor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that CLUB 20 supports the work of ACTION 22, the Front Range communities in eastern Colorado and the Colorado Department of Transportation in developing a vision and addressing the capacity needs of U.S. Highway 50, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that CLUB 20 urges the Department of Transportation to consider the needs of U.S. Highway 50 from east to west in Colorado, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that CLUB 20 will remain involved in any discussions concerning U.S. Highway 50 to ensure that the interests of communities in western Colorado along the corridor are represented.
