TR – 10 – 1-Continued Funding to Upgrade Highway 13 North

WHEREAS Highway 13 from Craig, Colorado north to the Wyoming border is the only paved transportation corridor in Northwest Colorado that links I-70 to I-80, and

WHEREAS efficient and safe transportation movement is of vital importance to the economic vitality of Moffat, Rio-Blanco, Routt and Garfield Counties, and

WHEREAS Highway 13 is an important south-north transportation corridor in northwestern Colorado that has a major impact on the economy, environment, and quality of life; and

WHEREAS Highway 13 from the Wyoming border to Craig, Colorado is important to the oil and gas industry for the transportation of equipment to the Moffat, Rio-Blanco, Routt and Garfield Counties, and

WHEREAS Highway 13 from the Wyoming border to Craig, Colorado is a key route for tourists to access our counties, and

WHEREAS CLUB 20 recognizes the importance of a statewide highway system for the movement of goods, people, and industrial equipment, and

WHEREAS Highway 13 from the Wyoming border to Craig, Colorado is a priority project and corridor listed with the NWTPR, and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that CLUB 20 supports the timely allocation of funds needed to complete the remaining miles of the Highway 13 corridor from Craig, Colorado to the Wyoming border; an

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that CLUB 20 urges the Colorado Department of Transportation to consider the needs of U.S. Highway 13 in Moffat County; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that CLUB 20 shall remain involved in any discussions concerning Highway 13 to ensure that the interests of communities along the corridor are represented.
