WHEREAS, while there exist a multitude of organizations which advocate for government policies that benefit their specific constituency, there is currently no mechanism for promoting the foundation concepts of good representative government; and
WHEREAS there is an increasing amount of confusion and ignorance amongst the voting public about the role of government and the ultimate consequences of a growing number of proposed ballot measures;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that CLUB 20 supports the creation of an independent non-partisan, non-governmental organization to educate the public on civic responsibilities and processes and on the potential consequences of proposed ballot measures.
